I launched mykoc.com in March 2003 as one of the first social networks in Turkey. Preparing some hand-outs and distributing to dormitories in Koc University, I promoted the web site as a platform that students can share the latest news, gossips, confessions, classifieds and lesson notes. As the second step of the promotion of mykoc.com, I cooperated with student clubs to increase the awareness of the web site and to provide them a platform that they can reach their audience. |

During International Marketing (Mktg 401) lessons, I created koruyucufilm.com to sell protective films online for mobile devices. I imported protective films, which protect any device screen from dust and scratch for years, from Germany and USA, and became the first supplier of the products in Turkey.
Low investment capacities, inability to reach retailer channels and incremental competition from Chinese imports have decreased monthly profit of the business. |

As October 2005, Mykoc.com has reached 7 mio page impressions and 5000 registered members since 2003. Major brands such as Unilever, Loreal and Turkcell advertised on mykoc.com. |
